More than 300 domestic and foreign suppliers attended the 2021 BRG Supplier Growth Strategy Seminar in Ha Noi on Wednesday.

The seminar with the message "Our opportunity is your opportunity" was held to announce the development strategy of BRG Group, especially BRG Retail, for its suppliers in the next five years.

BRG Retail will help its suppliers have opportunities to advertise, consume and develop their product supply chains to its 22,000 employees and millions of customers, partners, organisations and businesses which have relationships with the BRG Group each year.

However, all goods brought into the BRG Group's ecosystem, including the BRGMart supermarkets, Haprofood/BRGMart minimart, golf courses, hotels and other member companies of the group must ensure food quality, hygiene and safety.

Nguyen Thai Dung, general director of BRG Retail, said the COVID-19 pandemic this year had severely affected the Vietnamese economy and the world, including the retail industry.

Facing these challenges, BRGMart's retail system still made positive changes with the purchase sales reaching a growth of 25 per cent and the number of suppliers increasing by 15 per cent year-on-year, said Dung.

He also said that in the difficult period, BRG Retail had provided maximum support to suppliers through policies such as displaying goods and deploying multi-channel communication activities.

BRG Retail hoped that BRGMart would become a leading reputable distribution channel in Viet Nam to help suppliers introduce to consumers new and outstanding products in the near future, he added.

"Up to now, BRGMart supermarkets and Haprofood/BRGMart minimarts with 52 stores are present in big cities such as Ha Noi, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Hung Yen and are gradually becoming a reliable shopping destination,” he said.

We expect to reach the target of 100 supermarkets and minimarts and expand to the central and southern regions by the end of this year, said Dung. — VNS
