BIDV on Monday announced a series of its community outreach programme towards the goal of sustainable development, on its 65th anniversary.

Accordingly, BIDV will plant 1 million trees in 2022-26, with total spending of VND50 billion (US$2.1 million) in response to the “One billion tree growing” project issued by the Prime Minister.

The programme will be implemented nationwide, focusing on 45 localities regularly affected by natural disasters, including the northern mountainous region, central region, Central Highlands and Mekong Delta.

In 2022-23, the bank would also build 10 community buildings for residents during floods with a total investment of VND25 billion.

In addition, BIDV will continue to implement the “Water for a green life” programme in localities in the Mekong Delta region, spending VND5 billion a year.

Tran Xuan Hoang, Member of the Board of Directors, Chairman of BIDV's Trade Union, said: "On the occasion of the 65th anniversary of establishment, BIDV continues to implement meaningful social security programmes towards its 'for a green life' values."

BIDV also presented 65 ambulances to medical facilities in 63 provinces and cities across the country. High-quality ambulances sponsored by BIDV are ordered and manufactured separately, meeting the technical criteria for the environment, quality and medical standards.

Hana Bank, one of South Korea's leading banks and a strategic partner of BIDV, also announced a donation of VND40 billion to build community houses to avoid flooding and to sponsor ambulances in Viet Nam.

Hana Bank will finance the construction of eight community cultural houses to avoid flooding and 16 ambulances in the central provinces of Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh.

BIDV has a new brand identity

BIDV officially launched a new brand identity on its 65th anniversary.

Accordingly, BIDV's new logo has a stylised image of a 5-petal yellow apricot flower. In the middle is a 5-pointed star, inspired by the golden star on the national flag, meaning it is both a guide and a destination for BIDV's journey.

The main brand identity colour is emerald green, one of the four great jewels, while the blue colour symbolises vitality, sustainable development, and an environmentally-conscious BIDV bank.

Le Ngoc Lam, BIDV’s General Director, said: “The new brand identity image is a symbol of 5 core values crystallised from the will, aspiration, love, and hard work of BIDV's staff during the past 65 years. They are wisdom, belief, integrity, professionalism and aspiration.”

Established in April 1957, BIDV is one of the oldest financial institutions in the banking and finance sector in Viet Nam.

In addition to performing financial and monetary tasks to serve the country's economic development, BIDV has spent nearly VND1.5 trillion funding community outreach programmes. — VNS
