Industrial, urban and transport infrastructure developer Becamex IDC Corp on June 14 signed an agreement to offer VND40 billion (US$1.74 million) for the purchase of medical equipment and materials for mass COVID-19 testing in the southern province of Binh Duong, particularly at local industrial parks.

During the fourth wave of COVID-19 outbreaks, which hit Viet Nam in late April, Binh Duong recorded infections in a number of businesses, one of which was blockaded with 600 workers put under quarantine.

According to a representative of Becamex IDC, the company has also worked to assist COVID-19 testing at the local Becamex International Hospital, My Phuoc General Hospital, and medical centre of Tan Uyen township.

Earlier, the corporation donated VND25 billion to the national fund for COVID-19 prevention and control. — VNS
