HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Asian stocks ended mixed on the last trading day of the week even as Viet Nam shares continued on August 29's upmarket trend.

The benchmark VN-Index increased 4.62 points to close at 636.65 on the HCM City Stock Exchange, and the HNX-Index inched up 0.25 points to end at 87.04.

In Japan, the Tokyo Stock Exchange Tokyo Price Index fell by 2.77 points to close at 1,277.97, and the Nikkei 225 ended down by 35.27 points at 15,424.59.

China's Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index added 21.38 points to close at 2,217.20, and the Hong Kong Hang Seng Index closed almost unchanged at 24,742.06.

Singapore's Straits Times Index lost 2.75 points to end at 3,327.47. — VNS
