HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Nearly all major indices across Asia ended higher on Thursday except for the Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong and the Straits Times Index in Singapore.
The Hang Seng Index lost 49.70 points to close at 25,190.45 while the Straits Times Index lost 6.54 points to end at 3,335.2.
Vietnamese markets followed the predominant trend in the region, with the VN index gaining 1.20 points to close at 639.85 and the HNX in the capital city adding 1.16 points to finish at 89.70.
The Nikkei 225 added 36.43 points to reach 15,705.11, and the Topix Index gained 5.43 points to end at 1,298.64.
With mainland China taking the day off to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, the Shanghai Composite Index remained unchanged at 2,326.43. — VNS
