Asian indexes slump in the market


The Nikkei 225 fell to a two-month low, losing 454.00 points or nearly 3 per cent to 14,778.37 in Tokyo while the Topix Index lost 29.86 points to 1,228.26

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The Nikkei 225 fell to a two-month low, losing 454.00 points or nearly 3 per cent to 14,778.37 in Tokyo while the Topix Index lost 29.86 points to 1,228.26.

The Hang Seng Index also slipped 56.15 points to 24,331.41 while The Shanghai Composite Index added 6.76 points to finish at 2,194.43 in mainland China.

The Straits Times Index lost 25.33 points to end the day at 3,288.89 in Singapore.

On August 8, the Malaysia Airlines shares were suspended on the local stock market after it was hit by two disasters that killed hundreds of people. FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI Index - Kuala Lumpur Composite Index also lost 27.45 points to 1,839.87.

The VN index decreased 2.19 points to close at 605.43 while the HNX added 0.17 points to reach 80.94 in the capital city.— VNS
