HA NOI (Biz Hub)– Viet Nam's aquatic export turnover to Africa reached US$30.3 million over the first quarter of this year, up 15 per cent against the same period last year.
Last year, the turnover to 25 African countries hit $150 million, a 38 per cent surge from 2011, with key exports including tra fish, shrimp and tuna.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vietnamese exporters have a good opportunity to promote seafood exports to African countries as the nations have to import numerous aquatic products to meet their domestic demand and their aquaculture industry is under-developed.—VNS
