A new logistics centre costing worth US$5.4 million opened its doors at the Phu My 3 Specialised Industrial Park in the southern province of Ba Ria- Vung Tau on Friday.
Financed by a joint venture between Japan's Shirogane Transport Co and Thanh Binh Phu My JSC, the Vina Japan Shirogane Logistics (VJS) spans a total area of 2.25ha. It includes a steel structure covering nearly 6,300sq.m and eight container entry points to meet a variety of cargo handling needs
VJS will focus on developing integrated logistics services, including transportation, warehousing and storage, customs procedures, packaging and labelling of goods for distribution.
In his speech at the opening ceremony, the provincial People’s Committee's vice chairman Nguyen Thanh Long expressed his hope that VJS would help accelerate the development of provincial logistics services and improve the operational efficiency of the Cap Mep – Thi Vai International Port.
He also expected the project to foster the development of the province’s maritime economy as well its trade and investment in addition to meeting the needs of enterprises in the park and elsewhere. — VNS
