As many as 32 Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) and international organisations have confirmed that they will attend the 14th Assembly of the Asian Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI) slated for September 19-22 in Ha Noi.
The figure was revealed by Deputy General Auditor of Viet Nam Doan Xuan Tien during a meeting on July 18 of the Steering Committee tasked with organising the assembly.
Tien said the organising board has approved a list of guests for the event, including 76 foreign and 128 domestic delegations.
One of the event’s highlights will be the seventh thematic conference on environmental audits for sustainable development, reflecting ASOSAI’s commitments to dealing with global environment challenges and pursuing common sustainable development goals in particular.
The Ha Noi Declaration will also be issued at the end of the event, reviewing the most important working results and highlighting ASOSAI’s commitments to development goals for the 2016-21 period.
Established in 1979 with 11 members, ASOSAI now has a total of 46 SAIs. The State Audit Office of Viet Nam became an ASOSAI member in 1997.
