HÀ NỘI — A total of 133 enterprises were given the National Quality Awards for their outstanding achievements in production and services at a ceremony in Hà Nội on Wednesday.

The companies were assessed based on their performances from 2021 to 2023.

The awards are granted by the Prime Minister to organisations and businesses that have outstanding achievements in production, business, and services in Việt Nam.

It is the only annual quality award specified in the Law on Product and Goods Quality, issued according to international standards, and part of the International Quality Award system by the Asia-Pacific Quality Organization.

It aims to encourage Vietnamese businesses to build and apply advanced management models, and develop resources to enhance the productivity and quality of products, goods, and services.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Science and Technology Huỳnh Thành Đạt said that the complicated global economic and political landscape from 2021 to 2023 significantly affected the operations of organisations worldwide, including businesses in Việt Nam.

The efforts to be flexible, innovate, and adjust to these difficult circumstances of the businesses that were given the awards are highly commendable, he said.

"To spread the positive values of the National Quality Award to the growing community of Vietnamese businesses, the Ministry of Science and Technology will continue to refine and implement the award, making it more comprehensive, effective, and widespread across the country, becoming a standard and motivation for many businesses to strive for," the minister said.

In addition, two companies were given the Asia-Pacific International Quality Award for the year 2021, which are the Khánh Hòa Salanganes Nest Soft Drink JSC and the TH Milk Food JSC. — VNS
