The 14th international Vietnam Auto Expo will take place in International Centre for Exhibition, 91 Tran Hung Dao, Ha Noi from June 7 to 10.

The exhibition, which is sponsored by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, will showcase cars, high-class coaches, trucks, vans and special purpose vehicles in construction, mining, military and hygiene.

It will introduce products for supporting industries, such as spare parts and components for producing, manufacturing and assembling automobiles, motorbikes and other vehicles. It will also display machinery, equipment, technologies in molding, welding, plating and painting. In addition, there will be ample automobile interior decor and car toys.

According to organiser C.I.S Vietnam Advertising and Exhibition JSC, the population of Viet Nam will be about 99.6 million people in 2020 when the forecasted market size is from two million to 3.5 million cars of all types, of which there are about 250,000 less-than-10-seat cars; in 2025 it is about more than 750,000 cars.

Viet Nam is the fourth biggest motorcycle and scooter market in the world, after China, India and Indonesia. In 2020, the number of motorcycles/scooters in Viet Nam will reach 33.5 million, equivalent to 2.97 people/one vehicle.

The highest localisation rate of car at the moment is 20 per cent - 30 per cent.

The automotive supporting industry is identified as one of five important industries that will receive support and priority for development. — VNS
