Lexus RX 200t . — VNS Photo Doan Tung

Toyota Vietnam, Japan’s automobile manufacturer in Vietnam, is recalling 360 cars in Lexus RX200t and Lexus RX350 models to repair and replace the Electrical Control Unit (ECU), which electrically controls back doors' opening/closing.

This was stated by the Vietnam Competition Authority (VCA) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

According to the VCA, the programme is applicable for models sold in Viet Nam and manufactured during the 2015-2016 period.

For Lexus RX200t and Lexus RX350 not imported by Toyota Vietnam, at the request of consumers, Toyota Vietnam will consult with Toyota in Japan to check and verify information based on the VIN.

If the VIN comes under the recall programme, Toyota will examine and replace the unit free of charge.

Updating the ECU for each vehicle takes some 1.4 hours and related costs will be paid by Toyota. The programme will continue until the end of December 5, 2017, at Toyota Lexus outlets throughout the country.

VCA has been supervising the recall programme and will update consumers and media agencies with latest information in the future. — VNS
