Luxury cars dominate international motor show

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — About 200 car dealership contracts were signed during the Vietnam International Motor Show (VIMS 2015), which ended on Tuesday in the capital city.

A majority of the vehicles were luxury cars valued at about VND1 billion (US$44.400) each, such as of Audi, BMW, Porsche and Land Rover, besides Renault. About 45 Audi, 42 BMW, 11 Mini Cooper, six Motorrad and 25 French Renault vehicles were sold during the show.

This is the first exhibition to be held by nine authorised auto importers and distributors in Viet Nam after they parted ways with the Viet Nam Automobile Manufacturers' Association (VAMA), following three years of co-operation.

VIMS 2015 showcased imported vehicles of Audi, BMW, Jaguar and Land Rover, besides Luxgen, Mini, Porsche and Renault, as well as BAIC companies. Brands such as BMW Motorrad, Ducatti and Samsung also attended the events as guests.

According to the organising board, another large automobile exhibition, called the Vietnam Motor Show (VMS 2015), will be held in HCM City from October 28 to November 1 this year. — VNS
