Toyota Motor Vietnam posts record sales

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) on August 11 announced that it sold 3,759 vehicle units in July, a 25 per cent increase year over year.

The month's sales also marked the highest growth achieved in the first seven months of this year.

In July 2014, 2,230 passenger cars were sold, up 35 per cent compared with the same month last year.

Meanwhile, the all-new Vios 2014 continued to make new sales records of 1,101 units, up 87 per cent compared with the Vios sales during the same period last year. Since its launch four months ago, more than 3,700 units of Vios 2014 have been delivered to customers nationwide and more than 2,000 bookings have been made.

This is also the third consecutive month in which Vios leads in sales volume among all TMV models.

The sales volume of commercial vehicles was 1,529 units, a 14 per cent increase compared with the same month last year. Among these, Innova achieved a significant sales volume of 600 units, up 36 per cent against the same month last year. Meanwhile, 704 Fortuner units were sold, contributing greatly to the growth of this segment.

As for completely built unit (CBU) vehicles, imported and distributed by TMV, 298 units of the all-new Yaris 2014 were sold, up 40 per cent compared with the previous month.

Hilux and Hiace also posted remarkable sales growth with 125 units and 57 units, an increase of 229 per cent and 128 per cent respectively, compared with the same month last year. Land Cruiser Prado and Land Cruiser also had good growth, compared with the same month last year. — VNS
