HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Piaggio Vietnam launched two new scooter models, Piaggio Liberty Restyling 2014 and the sporty version, Piaggio Liberty S Restyling 2014, on April 3.

Since its debut in the country in 2011, the Piaggio Liberty scooter has attracted many admirers of Italian style and design.

Also in 2011, Piaggio launched the "Art of the Motorbike" campaign to celebrate the Liberty brand in Viet Nam. It reflects the Piaggio style, which is a combination of state-of-the-art technology, a pioneering passion and a creative lifestyle.

The Piaggio Liberty scooter has every detail of the well-known brand's design. The modern head lamp and the edgy front handlebar cover along with chrome-plated parts on the front shield give it a young and impressive look.

Besides a significantly improved performance, fuel economy and drastically reduced CO2 emissions, it is about 30 per cent better than the previous-generation engines. Specifically, the three-valve engines offer a fuel economy of 64 kilometres per litre at a constant speed of 50 kilometres per hour. The three-valve technology provides better acceleration and better maximum speed compared with the previous-generation engines.

The Liberty Restyling is priced at VND57.5 million (US$2,700) (including VAT) and is available in Rosso Dragon, Blu midnight, Marrone Crete Senesi, Bianco Perla and Nero Vulcano colours. The Liberty S Restyling is priced at VND58.5 million ($2,785) and is available in Grigio Titanio colour.

Created as a 50cc moped in 1997, Piaggio Liberty soon established itself as a vehicle for women and beginners. Later, its displacement was increased from 125cc and 150cc to 200cc, while the features which made it successful were retained.─ VNS
