Ford continues to see sales growth

HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — Ford Viet Nam reported 5 per cent year-on-year sales growth in August to 1,353 units as sales for the year surged 49 per cent to 11,710 vehicles.

Ford attributed the growth to the continuing strength in demand for the Ranger and EcoSport models as well as record monthly sales of 513 in August for the Transit, a 46 per cent year-on-year rise.

Ford Viet Nam has been awarded the Labour Medal, second class, for its contribution over the 20 years it has been operating in Viet Nam.

After entering the market in September 1995 with an investment of US$126 million, it set up a plant in Hai Duong Province in 1997 with an annual capacity of 14,000 units.

In the last three years it has achieved among the highest growth with 71 per cent in 2013 and 2014 and 70 per cent in the first half of this year. — VNS
