VIETWATER 2017 to showcase latest technologies, trends in

water industry

Việt Nam’s leading international water supply, sanitation, water resources and purification event, VIETWATER 2017, will take place at HCM City’s Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC) from November 8 to 10.

More than 480 participating companies from 38 countries and territories will showcase their cutting-edge technologies, solutions, products and equipment in all areas of the water industry from supply, sanitation and wastewater treatment to purification and desalination.

Speaking about the 9th edition of VIETWATER this year, Eliane van Doorn, business development director (ASEAN Business), UBM Asia, the organiser of VIETWATER, said: “We surely continue to build an international business platform for 14,000 participants to connect, exchange and share their industry expertise.

“The exhibition features 14 international pavilions, giving participants the latest technology updates in the water industry. Focusing on sustainable water development, VIETWATER 2017 is carrying out activities to support both the business side and the general community.”

A Vietwater pre-show conference was held in Hà Nội in August, attracting about 180 key industry players, who discussed about and learnt how to improve the quality of water supply and sanitation service through innovations, upgraded technologies and effective utility management.

In support to the Vietnamese community, UBM is working in partnership with the Việt Nam Water Supply and Sewerage Association (VWSA), Australian Water Association (AWA) and SkyJuice Foundation for delivering a safe drinking water project in the rural communities of Khánh Phú and Liên Sang, Khánh Hòa Province.

The project has installed advanced, low-cost and easy to operate membrane filtration systems in two rural schools, and they provide 20,000 litres of safe drinking water to children and staff per day. The project also involves training workers from the Khánh Hoà Provincial Water Supply Authority and operators of the systems, and is delivered in partnership with the Khánh Hòa People’s Committee to ensure the long-term sustainability of the treatment systems.

Apart from these activities, VIETWATER 2017 is introducing a Water Innovation Gallery, where the latest innovative technologies and solutions are on display to help develop water technologies in Việt Nam.

Admission to the exhibition is free, allowing all industry visitors the opportunity to learn about Việt Nam’s water market and international technologies and get a practical and insightful experience from technical seminars and an international conference on the theme “Toward Sustainable Water Development – International Experience”.
