Xiaomi on Tuesday officially unveiled its next generation Android One smartphones, Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite.
The company said the devices are set to take its Android One series to a whole new level, especially with the exceptional photography experience they offer.
In Viet Nam, the phone will be priced from VND4.69 million (US$205).
Mi A2 sports dual cameras in the back and a 20MP selfie shooter.
The slightly smaller Mi A2 Lite has 12MP + 5MP dual cameras in the rear and a large, 4,000mAh battery.
As a benefit of the Android One partnership both devices will have unlimited high-quality photo storage with Google Photos to ensure users never have to worry about running out of photo storage.
Xiaomi senior vice president Wang Xiang said: “Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite are two devices that will take our win-win partnership with Google to new heights, following the success of Mi A1 last year. With an amazing user experience that well exceeds people’s expectations, offered at an honest price, our Android One series has now developed an excellent reputation and allowed us to win over the hearts of many more users in our global expansion journey.”
Mi A2 features a stunning 5.99-inch 18:9 full screen display and is only 7.3mm thick.
Mi A2 Lite is one of the first Android One devices to feature a unique 19:9 display
The two new phones run pure Android 8.1 out of the box with the latest Google AI-powered software innovations built in, such as a smarter battery that adjusts to user habits.
They also make it easy for users to find answers and get things done on-the-go with help from Google Assistant and Google Lens.
They will have monthly security software updates and Google Play Protect built in. Moreover, Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite support Google’s Project Treble, resulting in faster and easier system updates than other Android devices so users can get their hands on the latest features.
The devices will be rolled out starting in August. — VNS
