Tra Vinh to get a fourth wind-power plant


The Tra Vinh Province People’s Committee has given the go-ahead to three investors to build the Hiep Thanh Wind Power Plant with a total investment of VND3.37 trillion (US$146 million).

The Tra Vinh Province People’s Committee has given the go-ahead to three investors to build the Hiep Thanh Wind Power Plant with a total investment of VND3.37 trillion (US$146 million).

The plant has a design capacity of 78MW from 18-19 turbines, and covers an area of more than 2,700ha in the coastal commune of Hiep Thanh in Duyen Hai Town in the Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta.

The investors are Ha Noi-based Ecotech Viet Nam, a renewable energy company, Singapore-based Janakuasa Pte Ltd, and Tra Vinh-based Ecotech company.

The plant is the fourth wind energy project receiving in-principle investment approval, according to the province’s Management Board of Economic Zones. — VNS
