Vietnamese ride-hailing start-up Aber has announced plans for expansion, a mere two months after it haled operations.
The firm opened registration for drivers and opened an office in Ha Noi last week.
CEO Aber Huynh Le Phu Phong said the firm would focus on niche markets which lack ride-hailing apps, adding that he saw significant potential there.
Aber plans to open a branch in Dak Lak in early November with a focus on goods transportation services, then other Central Highlands provinces. The company hopes to expand to all 63 provinces and cities by the end of 2019.
In Ha Noi, Aber aims to have 10,000 car drivers and 5,000 motorbike drivers by the end of 2018. Aber provides ride hailing services including Aber Bike, Aber Car, delivery Aber Express, goods transportation Aber Truck, for-business transportation Aber Business and travel services Aber Travel.
Aber debuted in June in HCM City and soon attracted about 5,000 drivers because the ride-hailing app did not collect any fees from drivers. — VNS
