Katalon Co Ltd, a provider of software test automation solutions, on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding with the University of Science-VNUHCM and Fulbright University Vietnam for developing a high-quality workforce in artificial intelligence, machine learning and digital transformation.
The two universities will receive support to upgrade infrastructure and enhance teaching quality, enabling learners to access cutting-edge knowledge and experience shared by industry experts and get the opportunity to practise modern technologies.
Dr Dinh Ba Tien, dean of the University of Science’s Faculty of Information Technology, said: “The collaboration between our information technology faculty and Katalon will provide students with an opportunity to practice, experience and sharpen relevant skillsets and knowledge that have been accumulated by the university."
“The department can enhance workforce quality to meet the current demand in new industrial areas like artificial intelligence and digital transformation.”
Tran Kien Uy, general director of Katalon, said: “Katalon has long-term plans for investment in software research and development, AI and ML technologies that can be applied in software quality testing. In the event, the company concentrates on training and nurturing human capital with industrial speciality, skillsets and knowledge.
“This is also a development trend, a key to the economy’s acceleration. Therefore, we always have a strong focus on developing a workforce specialising in AI/ML & Digital Transformation.”
A LinkedIn report titled ‘Jobs on the rise in 2021’ said there is huge demand for tech experts with hands-on experience in AI with the average hiring demand rising by 74 per cent a year starting in 2017.
The most vacancies are for machine learning researchers, machine learning engineers and artificial intelligence specialists, it said.
Katalon is a global product company providing an end-to-end software quality platform.
In June 2021 it announced it received series A funding of US$27 million from US venture capital firm Elephant Partners.
