The Ministry of Planning and Investment has co-ordinated with various other ministries and agencies to create a programme to connect the country’s innovation networks.

The programme aims to attract Vietnamese experts who have trained and worked in countries where IT foundations are well-developed to help reshape the face of Viet Nam’s technological development and promising digital future.

Tran Quoc Phuong, director of the Ministry of Planning and Investment’s National Economic Issues Department, said at a press briefing on Friday that the goal of the programme was to share the vision and strategic views of the country’s Party, State and Government leaders on the opportunities to make use of scientific and technological achievements in key fields for rapid and sustainable socio-economic development.

It would also create networks and ecosystems linking intelligence with a collaborative mechanism for domestic and foreign firm.

This year’s programme will run from August 18-24 with the theme "Thang Long Strength – Viet Nam Intelligence" and will include a series of activities in Ha Noi, HCM City and Quang Ninh.

The main participants will be 100 young outstanding Vietnamese students from some of the world’s most prestigious universities in the fields of IT, biotechnology, platform technology, automation and robotics. — VNS
