Di Dong Truc Tuyen Services Joint Stock Company operating MoMo and FPT Information System (FPT IS) on Thursday signed a strategic co-operation agreement to use MoMo e-wallet in hospital management FPT.eHospital and e-government FPT.eGov.
Accordingly, the model will be piloted in some hospitals and provinces and then replicated nationwide. Millions of people would have a more convenient and quick payment channel at hospitals or public services at localities by scanning QR codes.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Nguyen Ba Diep, vice chairman of Di Dong Truc Tuyen Services Joint Stock Company said the co-operation was suitable with their target of developing financial technology products serving Vietnamese people.
Nguyen Hoang Minh, general director of FPT IS said the co-operation would enhance the two sides’ potential and strength based on technologies. It would also promote digitalisation of public services.
FPT IS has been one of the pilot companies in smart healthcare sector in Viet Nam by developing solutions such as electronic medical records, FPT.eHospital which was launched at more than 300 hospitals nationwide, serving around 20 million health examinations a year.
Meanwhile, MoMo has been one of the leading e-wallets in the market with experiences in implementing electronic payments in public services such as hospital payment, tuition fee, payment of electricity, water, internet, telephone and cable TV in many big cities such as HCM City, Ha Noi, Da Nang and Dong Nai.
The Government at the beginning of the year promulgated Decision No 02/NQ-CP to promote e-payments in the public sector, requiring at least 30 per cent of online public services at level 4. It would also require all schools, hospitals, electricity companies and telecom companies to use non-cash payments. — VNS
