More than 1,000 people join VSMCamp 2016

HA NOI —The first Vietnam Sales and Marketing Camp (VSMCamp 2016)
officially kicked off at the Long Bien Golf Course in Ha Noi on Saturday.

Forty well-known Vietnamese and international speakers have participated in the two-day seminar with the theme "Building sales and marketing strategies for national brands." Some 14 workshops on the latest topics related to strategies on sales, product distribution,and branding, apart from marketing, advertising, media and technology, are being conducted.

Bharat Avalani, director of knowledge for Asian Federation of Advertising Associations, opened the event with the topic "story telling is the most powerful way to put ideas into the world today." He said the love for consumers has influenced the marketing profession and marketers who convey the brand message through a series of experiences.

"One has to deal with challenges and it was necessary to prepare specific plans to convey the purpose of the brand," he said.

Forecasting the transition of the role of marketing directors, RohitDadwal, managing director of Mobile Marketing Association(MMA) Asia Pacific Limited, said in the next five years, chief marketing officers (CMOs) will determine the success of any business. Therefore, before the boom of digital marketing, CMOs must act sensibly to maintain the trend of economic development, along with determining strategic development in line with characteristics of a company.

Certainly, in the next 5-10 years, the development of new technology and its impact on marketers is inevitable, he said.

In addition, the event also conducted a series of seminars to assess the current situation and share experiences and solutions on marketing in the future, including innovation in digital marketing, sale solutions, distribution channels in a digital world and the role of content marketing in the digital era.

Le QuocVinh, head of the organising board, said VSMcamp is a very important event this year for sales, marketing and communications in Viet Nam. All presentations and workshops mention core issues in accordance with modern trends, bringing a lot of knowledge and experience to assist businesses in preparing development strategies of their brands in the context of global competitiveness.

"Strong brands will contribute to building the national brand of Viet Nam," he said.

 According to the organising board, the programme attracted more than 1,500 participants, including executive directors, sales and marketing directors, chief technology officers, administrators and  representatives of professional associations.

Tran Ngoc Anh, chairman of the Vietnam Sales & Marketing Officer Club (CSMO Vietnam), said the programme was designed to mobilise a collective intelligence to build a professional network for the sharing of knowledge, skills and experiences on developing strategies for marketing, sales, advertising and communications for large Vietnamese brands.

The event was co-organised by CSMO Vietnam, Vietnam Marketing and Communications Club and Le Bros Company. — VNS
