HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — VietJet and the Viet Nam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) will speed up cooperation in areas such as air transport, telecommunications, and multimedia entertainment services on the carrier's aircraft.
The cooperation commitment follows a strategic deal inked between the two sides in HCM City on May 21. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang and Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Bac Son.
VietJet will expand and develop ticket sale channels on the VNPT system, while VNPT will develop telecommunications services on the airline's aircraft and receive preferential air service packages. The two will also join hands to draw up promotional packages for customers.
VietJet currently has the highest growth rate in the region, while VNPT is the largest telecommunications and mobile service provider in Viet Nam.
"VietJet promises to provide passengers with convenient, quality services," VietJet chairperson Nguyen Thanh Ha said.
"Passengers who fly with us will enjoy the convenience of purchasing tickets for our new aircraft from extensive channels, apart from friendly flight attendants, and daily promotions," Ha added.
"People can buy airline tickets through the VNPT system or by calling 1080 or VNPT's Call Centre," VNPT CEO Pham Duc Long remarked. "This cooperation will open up new opportunities for both VNPT and VietJet to offer more convenience to customers," he said.
To meet the demands of passengers, VietJet will continue acquiring new aircraft and expand domestic as well as international routes. It currently has a fleet of 25 Airbus aircraft, operating 150 services on 30 air routes every day. —VNS
