Hong Kong company expands operations in Hai Duong

HA NOI(Biz Hub) — Hong Kong-owned Regent Garment Factory Ltd, a member of the Crystal group, has started expanding its garment factories in northern Hai Duong Province's Lai Vu Industrial Zone on March 12.

According to the company, it will build two garment workshops, with an investment of over US$35 million. It is expected to create about 5,500 jobs for local people in Kim Thanh District in 2014.

Over the next five years, the company plans to expand its operations and build eight factories with an investment of $125 million, attracting about 22,000 workers, said Regent Garment Factory Ltd's director, Richard Chin.

The company noted that its partner, Pacific Textiles, will build a $190 million textile mill in the future in the same industrial zone.

Regent Garment Factory Ltd was established in Viet Nam in 2006 and is currently located in Nam Sach, Hai Duong. It employs some 10,000 workers to manufacture knit garments for various famous brands.—VNS
