Vietnam Airlines announces upgrade to 4-star service

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Unveiling its first new A350 aircraft on July 2 as part of the plan to upgrade its fleet, Vietnam Airlines JSC. (VNA) also announced its 4-star service upgrade.

The airline also launched its new corporate identity at a ceremony in the VIP lounge of Noi Bai International Airport.

The event marked the airline's leap forward to become one of the top carriers in the region and the most favoured in Asia by 2020.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, together with about 200 guests representing different ministries, agencies, European ambassadors to Viet Nam and members of the international and local press were present at this ceremony.

The launch of the new corporate identity and uniforms, which will become operational on July 3, also took place at this special event. The new identity is geared towards modernity and uniformity while keeping the traits of the flag carrier and symbolising a dynamic country in reform and development.

As an important part of the corporate identity, the uniforms of pilots, flight-attendants and other staff have also been changed to match the logo, airplanes, and other designs including lounges, ticket counters, and check-in counters, apart from labels and signposts.

VNA Chairman Pham Viet Thanh said that with the official launch of the new corporate identity and upgrade plan to 4-star service, the VNA was prepared to meet new demands, create differentials and serve customers better with more value-adds.

"We are determined to make Vietnam Airlines a strong airline, bringing passengers the best flight experiences thanks to the perfect blend of Vietnamese cultural tradition and state-of-the-art technologies," said Thanh.

The event also saw Vietnam Airlines and Airbus sign a flight hour services agreement for the Airbus A350-900 XWBs. Under the agreement, Airbus is committed to providing a full package of parts supply services of the Vietnam Airlines' A350 fleet for 12 years. — VNS
