Viet Nam Prosperity Joint Stock Commercial Bank (VPBank), once listed, will become the largest private bank by market capitalisation on the HCM Stock Exchange (HOSE).

HOSE on Tuesday announced it has received an application from VPBank to list on the exchange.

VPBank has registered to list 1.33 billion shares on HOSE. Ban Viet Securities Company is the bank’s share listing consultant.

VPBank’s shares are currently being traded at VND35,000 (US$1.53) per unit on the OTC market. At this price, VPBank’s market capitalisation reaches nearly VND46.7 trillion, just behind the three State-owned banks of Vietcombank, BIDV and Vietinbank, and much higher than that of MBBank, Sacombank, ACB and Eximbank.

With charter capital of more than VND14 trillion, VPBank is the fourth largest joint stock commercial bank by charter capital after Sacombank, MBBank and SCB.

In 2017, VPBank has targeted pre-tax profit of VND6.8 trillion, a year-on-year increase of 38 per cent from 2016’s figure, and total assets of VND280.6 trillion. Last year, it recorded pre-tax profit of VND4.92 trillion, an increase of 59 per cent from 2015. — VNS
