VN-Index, HNX Index down in morning trading

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The stocks fell on both bourses at 11am, a sign that there would be an uneasy trading session on the southern bourse this afternoon.

On the HCM Stock Exchange, the VN-Index fell 0.37 per cent to end at 565.08 points at 11am, with the losers slightly outnumbering the gainers by 107 to 67.

The VN30, tracking the top 30 shares by market value and liquidity, lost 0.35 per cent to close at 589.06 points.

Nearly 63 million shares, worth VND791 billion (US$36.6 million), were traded.

FLC Group (FLC) and Ocean Group JSC (OGC) surprisingly hit the ceiling prices of VND8,900 and VND2,600, respectively.

FLC remained the most active code on the southern bourse, with more than 18.7 million of its shares being traded.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index ended at 79.58 points at 11am, a fall of 0.6 per cent. The total trading volume was 23 million, worth VND251 billion ($11.6 million).

The northern market also ended mixed, with 62 gainers, 89 losers and 203 stocks remaining unchanged.

FIT Investment JSC (FIT) was the most active code, with more than 2.1 million of its shares being traded. Its market value increased by 1.48 per cent to reach VND13,700 per share.
