VN-Index continues to drop, real estate stocks go against market trend

On the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE), the VN-Index lost 6.76 points, or 0.54 per cent, to 1,240.49 points. The market breadth was still negative with 322 stocks dropping while 98 stocks climbed.

However, the market's liquidity was higher than yesterday as over 621.2 million shares were traded, worth over VND13 trillion.

Besides real estate, big stocks from other sectors all posted losses.

The VN30-Index, tracking the moves of 30 biggest stocks in market capitalisation on HoSE, fell 0.56 per cent to 1,277.05 points. Of the VN30 basket, 24 stocks declined while only five rose and one ended flat.

Vietnam Rubber Group JSC (GVR) witnessed the biggest losses in market captialisation, down 3.75 per cent.

Meanwhile, gains of the real estate group helped cap the losses. Of which, Vingroup JSC (VIC) contributed the most to the market, up 2.06 per cent.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange (HNX), the HNX-Index dropped by 1.08 per cent to 292.92 points. The HNX30-Index also posted a decrease of 1.56 per cent to 436.91 points. VNS
