VN Index bucks trend to hit four-year high

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — While other Asian indices slumped, the VN Index hit a four-year high by jumping 10.08 points to 553.67 in HCM City on January 20.

In contrast, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index was the biggest loser of the day, tumbling 204.40 points to end at 22,928.95. In Japan, the Nikkei 225 lost 92.78 points to finish at 15,641.68, while the Topix Index also closed 3.53 points lower at 1,293.86.

In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite Index closed 13.70 points lower at 1,991.25. Singapore's Straits Times Index also lost 18.54 points to end at 3,128.8.

In the capital city of Viet Nam, the HNX Index slipped 0.28 points to end at 72.50. — VNS
