VinaCapital Fund Management Joint Stock Company has announced that its open-ended funds ended 2022 on a high note despite a turbulent year, with all funds significantly outperforming their respective benchmarks on both a one-year and three-year basis.
These funds include the VinaCapital Equity Special Access Fund (VINACAPITAL-VESAF), VinaCapital Equity Opportunity Fund (VINACAPITAL-VEOF), VinaCapital Insights Balanced Fund (VINACAPITAL-VIBF), and VinaCapital Enhanced Fixed Income Fund (VINACAPITAL-VFF).
As of December 31, 2022, on a three-year annualised basis, VINACAPITAL-VESAF led the way with a return of 16.6 per cent, followed by VINACAPITAL-VEOF’s 12.7 per cent. Both equity funds significantly outperformed their benchmark of the VN-Index, which had a three-year annualised return of 1.6 per cent.
Meanwhile, the company’s balanced fund, VINACAPITAL-VIBF recorded a three-year annualised return of 10.9 per cent, outperforming its benchmark return of 3.6 per cent. VINACAPITAL-VFF, a bond fund, also locked in a three-year annualised return of 7.1 per cent, while its benchmark’s three-year annualised return was 5.3 per cent.
The total assets under management of VinaCapital’s four open-ended funds reached over VND3.2 trillion (US$137.2 million), increasing by 4.4 per cent year-on-year. The funds have over 38,000 investors as of December 31, 2022.
The VINACAPITAL-VESAF mainly invests in the listed stocks of leading companies with medium and small market capitalisations. Its annualised return is 12.7 per cent per annum since inception in April 2017, almost doubling its benchmark’s return over the same period of 6.5 per cent.
The VINACAPITAL-VEOF mainly invests in large and medium-sized companies, and seeks to deliver higher returns than the VN-Index. Its average annualised return since inception in 2014 is 9.1 per cent, while its benchmark’s return over the same period is 6.7 per cent.
The VINACAPITAL-VIBF is a balanced open-ended fund which invests in bonds and listed stocks of companies with strong fundamentals and sustainable profitability. Its average return has been 9.2 per cent per annum since inception in July 2019, while its benchmark’s return over the same period is 3.5 per cent.
The VINACAPITAL-VFF invests in fixed income instruments, including bonds of companies, certificates of deposits and bank deposits. Its average annualised return since 2013 is 7.7 per cent, while its benchmark’s return in the same period is 4.4 per cent.
