Viettel Global Investment Joint Stock Company announced plans to increase its authorised capital to VND30.4 trillion (US$1.33 billion) and list on UPCoM next month at its annual general shareholders’ meeting on Saturday.
It said its consolidated revenues for last year were over VND19 trillion, an increase of 24 per cent.
Its net profit was VND27 billion ($1.18 million).
Viettel Global has mobile operations in nine countries, of which eight are profitable (Cambodia, Laos, Timor Leste, Mozambique, Burundi, Haiti, Peru, and Cameroon).
It entered the other two markets only recently, going to Tanzania two years ago and Myanmar just this month.
This year the company plans to enter more new markets, mainly ASEAN member countries, where populations are similar to Viet Nam’s.
This year it targets increasing subscriber numbers by 10-15 per cent, expanding into enough markets to take the cumulative population of its markets to 400 - 500 million and rank among the top 10 global telecom companies.— VNS
