Viet Nam bucks the trend to grow

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Asian markets ended lower on May 7, except for the Vietnamese bourses.

Coming back from the holiday, the Nikkei 225 lost 239.64 points to end at 19,291.99, while the Topix Index slipped 10.97 points to close at 1,574.64 in Tokyo.

Meanwhile, the Hang Seng Index lost 350.94 points to reach 27,289.97 in Hong Kong, while the Shanghai Composite Index dropped 117.55 points to close at 4,112.21 in mainland China.

The Strait Time Index fell by 27.01 points to end at 3,432.78 in Singapore.

In contrast, the two bourses in Viet Nam ended higher.

The VN Index added 3.68 points to close at 552.98, and the HNX Index gained 0.55 points to close at 79.94 in Viet Nam.— VNS
