Upward trend continues this morning

HA NOI (Biz Hub) – Shares finished slightly higher on both national stock exchanges this morning, fuelling hopes of a positive end to a dismal week for trading.

On the HCM City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index gained 0.25 per cent to finish at 500.82 points.

Total trading value reached VND575.11 billion (US$27.39 million) on an exchange of more than 30.78 million shares.

The VN30-Index, tracking the southern city's top shares by capitalisation and liquidity, was 0.2 per cent higher at 558.9 points.

Advancers overwhelmed decliners by 14-5.

Bao Viet Insurance (BVH), FPT Group (FPT) and PetroVietnam Drilling (PVD) increased slightly, while Masan Group (MSN) and Kinh Do (KDC) both lost ground.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index edged up 0.08 per cent to reach 61.4 points, after 11.45 million shares were traded with a total value of VND99.18 billion ($4.72 million).

The HNX30-Index also finished 0.08 per cent higher at 114.66 points. - VNS
