HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Stocks continued to tumble this morning, but the pace slowed down.
On the HCM City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index inched down just 0.03 per cent to stand at 473.16 points.
The VN30 monitoring the top 30 shares by market capitalisation and liquidity was also down 0.28 per cent at 527.08 points.
Some blue chips rebounded, however, cushioning the Index fall.
Gainers included Vietinbank (CTG) up 3.2 per cent; Ocean Group (OGC) 2.4 per cent; PV Gas (GAS) 0.8 per cent; and Hoang Anh Gia Lai Corp (HAG) 0.5 per cent.
More 19.6 million shares and fund certificates worth nearly VND401.4 billion (US$19.1 million) changed hands by the end of the morning.
Only three shares had trades of more than a million shares. Tan Tao Investment Industry Corp (ITA) was the most active with 1.54 million shares exchanged at VND5,600 each.
On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index was down 0.12 per cent to 42.03 points on a turnover of VND58 billion ($2.8 million).
Sai Gon-Ha Noi Bank (SHB) were the only shares with trades of more than a million shares on the northern bourse, being the most active code. SHB is being traded at VND6,400 a share. — VNS
