Stocks slide on first day of extended trading hours in Ha Noi

HA NOI (Biz Hub)– Gloomy weather this morning also dampened the stock market with stocks falling on both stock exchanges.

The VN-Index on the HCM City market slid 0.49 per cent to stand at 491.50 points, weighed down by blue chip slumps.

Many of the top 30 shares by market capitalisation and liquidity shed value, losing from 0.5-3 per cent. These shares included Hoang Anh Gia Lai Corp (HAG), REE Corp (REE), Ocean Group (OGC), Vinamilk (VNM), Phu My Fertiliser (DPM) and Hoa Phat Group (HPG).

Meanwhile on the Ha Noi exchange, the HNX-Index gave up 0.31 points to close at 61.33 points.

Trading was sluggish on both exchanges as a total of about 33 million shares worth VND329.3 billion (US$15.7 million) were exchanged on the two bourses.

Property developer FLC Gorup (FLC) on the Ha Noi market was the only shares having trades of over 1 million shares. With nearly 1.63 million shares traded, FLC was the most active code nationwide this morning, changing hands at VND5,500 a share.

Hoang Quan Consulting Trading Service Real Estate Corp (HQC) was the most active code on the HCM City market on trades of just 734,300 shares exchanged at a value of VND5,600 a share.

Today is the first day the Ha Noi Stock Exchange extends its trading hours to 3pm. A similar extension in trading was applied on the HCM City bourse last Monday. – VNS
