HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The national stocks closed higher on both exchanges this morning.
On the HCM City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index gained only 0.05 per cent to reach 582.66 points.
The transaction value reached nearly VND1.37 trillion (US$64.3 million) on a volume of 98.6 million shares.
The VN30 Index, comprising the city's 30 largest stocks in terms of capitalisation and liquidity, however declined by 0.06 per cent to stand at 614.81 points, although the numbers of losers and gainers were even. Kinh Do Confectionery (KDC) rose by four per cent. Among the losers were the largest market capitalisation stocks such as steelmakers Hoa Phat (HPG) and Hoa Sen (HSG), insurer Bao Viet Holdings (BVH), PetroVietnam Drilling Services (PVD) and Vinamilk (VNM).
On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index edged up by 0.02 per cent to end at 86.88 points.
The HNX30 Index, representing the performance of the bourse's top 30 blue chips, increased by 0.04 per cent, reaching 169.07 points.
The trading value and volume reached VND349.2 billion ($16.4 million) and 28.2 million shares respectively. — VNS
