HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Stocks made gains this morning on both the bourses, driven by the blue chips.
On the HCM Stock Exchange, the VN-Index rose 1.52 per cent to close at 607.90 points, and the VN30, which tracks the top 30 shares by market value and liquidity, grew by 1.21 per cent to end at 652.05 points.
The gainers included Vinamilk (VNM), FPT Corp (FPT), PV Gas (GAS), Masan Group (MSN) and Saigon Securities Inc (SSI).
Liquidity was modest, with nearly 90 million shares, worth VND1.55 trillion (US$73.5 million), being exchanged.
Tan Tao Investment Industry Corp (ITA) was the most active stock with 8.2 million of its shares being traded. The stocks value rose by 2.3 per cent to close at VND9,000 per share.
On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index increased by 0.86 per cent to finish at 89.39 points, with the market value reaching VND642.6 billion ($30.5 million).
Sai Gon-Ha Noi Bank (SHB) was the leading stock here, with 5.7 million of its shares being traded. But its share price fell by more than one per cent to close at VND9,100 per share.
