HA NOI (Biz Hub)— Both markets made losses this morning as sluggish trading precipitated a slump.
On the HCM City Stock Exchange, a lack of support from blue chips caused the VN-Index to slide 0.59 per cent to 508 points.
The VN30, tracking the top 30 shares by market capitalisation, was also down 0.39 per cent to 559.44 points.
Trading was tepid with just 32.5 million shares worth VND543.1 billion (US$25.9 million) exchanged by the end of the morning. Trading focused again on blue chips with VND311.6 billion ($14.8 million) worth of shares changing hands, making up 57.3 per cent of the total market value.
On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index also gave up 0.4 per cent to close the morning's session at 62.68 points.
Only 12.2 million shares worth VND99.4 billion ($4.7 million) were traded this morning.
