HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The State Treasury has announced a plan to issue additional VND60 trillion ($2.75 billion) worth of government bonds in the third quarter of this year.
Of this, VND30 trillion will be mobilised through five-year bonds, VND16 trillion from 15-year bonds, VND10 trillion from 10-year bonds and the rest from 20-year bonds.
Earlier this month, the State Treasury had announced it would issue for the first time VND6 trillion worth of 20-year bonds, targetting securities companies operating in Viet Nam. The bonds will be issued from July 29 to December 31.
In June, the Ha Noi Stock Exchange (HNX) sold government bonds worth VND8.281 trillion ($379 million) through 31 auctions.
The State Treasury of Viet Nam offloaded bonds worth VND7.381 trillion ($338.5 million), and the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies sold bonds worth VND900 billion ($41.2 million) through these sales.
The HNX said compared to May, volume of government bonds sold in the primary market increased by 93.3 per cent in June. — VNS
