HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Saigon Securities Inc (SSI) was announced as one of the Top 50 Best Listed Company 2014 in Viet Nam by Forbes magazine on June 2.

According to SSI, it was the second time that Forbes had compiled the names of listed companies that not only have the best business performance in their segment and key position in the market but also have brought high return to the investors.

The total capitalisation of 50 companies in the list was over VND741 trillion (US$35.28 billion), equal to 65 per cent of the total capitalisation of the whole stock market (calculated by April 25, 2014). According to data, there are now 692 listed companies in Viet Nam.

The average growth rate in revenue of the 50 companies in the list was 7 per cent, higher than the 2 per cent increase of the whole market. Their average pre-tax profit growth reached 23 per cent while the average growth of the whole market reached 15 per cent last year.

According to SSI, it was chosen because of its leading position in the market in many categories: leader in revenue and profit (absolute number), having the largest capital and the most foreign institutional investors as well as being No 1 in brokerage market share at HOSE.

Besides SSI, its associates, including National Seed Joint Stock Company (NSC) and Southern Seed Joint Stock Company (SSC), have also been announced in the list.

In May 2014, financial magazine The Asset announced a list of Triple A Award of 2014 for the best banks, investment companies and funds, in which SSI Asset Management Company (SSIAM) continued to be honoured with the Best Asset Management Company in Viet Nam.

SSI's representative reported that in such financial and economically difficult situations, the award has shown the company's relentless effort to achieve its target of becoming one of the country's leading securities firms.— VNS
