SINGAPORE — Singapore shares ended lower on Tuesday with the Straits Times Index slipping 10.33 points to 3,443.9. Some 2.6 billion shares, valued at S$1.77 billion were traded. Gainers outnumbered losers 230 to 226.
Malaysian shares closed higher on Tuesday with the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Composite Index up 10.23 points to 1,787.38.
Chinese shares rose for a fourth consecutive trading day on Tuesday. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.22 percent, or 5.13 points, to end at 2,305.1. The Shenzhen Component Index rose 1.04 percent, or 96.38 points, to 9,403.54.— The Strait Times/China Daily/ANN
