HA NOI (Bizhub) — Vietnamese shares rose slightly on both local bourses this morning, led by speculative stocks with good business reports.
The benchmark VN Index on the HCM Stock Exchange was up 0.7 per cent to close at 574.65 points, and the HNX Index on the Ha Noi Stock Exchange inched up 0.1 per cent to end at 80.38 points.
Speculative stocks, such as Hoang Anh Gia Lai Joint Stock Company (HAG), Tan Tao Investment Industrial Joint Stock Company (ITA) and Ha Noi Investment General Corporation (SHN), made gains following positive reports about their businesses.
HAG surged 5.8 per cent, ITA jumped five per cent and SHN gained 4.4 per cent. HAG was also the most active stock, with more than 6.4 million of its shares being traded.
The market was also boosted by some large-cap stocks such the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BID), Vietcombank (VCB), Vietinbank (CTG) and Vingroup JSC (VIC).
At the end of the morning, BID gained 2.9 per cent, VCB inched up 0.5 per cent, CTG was up 1.1 per cent and VIC gained 0.9 per cent. Both local exchanges traded more than 78 million shares, worth VND1.05 trillion (US$46.9 million). — VNS
