HA NOI (Biz Hub)— Shares tumbled in both cities this morning. On the HCM City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index lost 0.18 per cent to reach 476.88 points.
The VN30, tracking the southern bourse's 30 largest stocks in terms of capitalisation and liquidity, also retreated 0.35 per cent to 533.95 points. Only six blue chips - Phu My Fertiliser (DPM), software firm FPT (FPT), steelmaker Hoa Sen Group (HSG), PetroVietnam General Services (PET), PetroVietnam Low Pressure Gas Distribution (PGD) and property giant Vingroup (VIC) - managed to rally.
The total trading value reached VND291.6 billion (US$13.7 million) for a total of 16.6 million shares.
On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the benchmark HNX-Index also slid 0.65 per cent to close at 59.14 points.
The value of transactions on the bourse was low at VND81.6 billion ($3.8 million) on a volume of 13.6 million shares.
The HNX30, composed of the top 30 stocks, shed more than 1 per cent to 108.25 points. - VNS
