Shares climbed on Monday morning on the back of blue-chips stocks.
On the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange, the VN-Index rose by 0.37 per cent, to 1,534.12 points.
Market breadth was negative with 246 losers and 192 gainers.
Some 736 million shares were traded on HoSE, worth more than VND22 trillion.
The index's gain was mainly driven by large-cap stocks, especially in banking and real estate sectors. Of which, the 30 biggest stocks tracker, the VN30-Index, gained 0.20 per cent, to 1,535.23 points. Twelve stocks in the VN30 basket edged up, while 18 declined.
Vingroup (VIC) led the uptrend this morning, gaining 2 per cent. The other two stocks of the Vin family also rose with Vinhomes (VHM) up 0.1 per cent and Vincom Retail (VRE) up 3.7 per cent.
Meanwhile, on the Ha Noi Stock Exchange (HNX), the HNX-Index climbed 1.02 per cent, to 498.86 points. VNS
