Shares reverse last week's losses

HA NOI (Biz Hub)- In HCM City this morning, the benchmark VN-Index inched up by 0.33 per cent to reach 509.45 points on a turnover of VND529.6 billion (US$24.98 million).

The winners outnumbered losers by 99-63.

Among the 30 leading shares by capitalisation and liquidity, only five stocks fell back. They were Eximbank (EIB), steelmaker Hoa Sen (HSG), PetroVietnam General Services (PET), Sacombank (STB) and food processor Bourbon Tay Ninh (SBT).

Meanwhile, PetroVietnam Drilling Services (PVD) rose by 5.2 per cent, followed by Kinh Do Confectionery (KDC) with 4 per cent and software developer FPT (FPT) by 2.4 per cent.

The VN30 gained 0.6 per cent overall to reach 562.56 points.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index also added 0.38 per cent, reaching 62.49 points.

As over 15.6 million shares changed hands, trading value totalled VND126.3 billion ($5.9 million).

The HNX30, tracking the northern bourse's 30 largest shares, grew by 0.9 per cent to end at 116.79 points.—VNS
