Shares recover on both exchanges

HA NOI – Shares continued to rise in HCM City and managed to rally in Ha Noi this morning, despite sluggish trading across both bourses.

 

On the HCM City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index added another 0.3 per cent to reach 507.66 points.

Trading value only matched 87 per cent of the previous morning, totalling VND734.2 billion (US$34.6 million) as over 29.8 million shares changed hands.

The VN30, tracking the southern bourse's top 30 shares, also increased 0.17 per cent to 558.94 points with 12 stocks closing in the green. Kinh Do Confectionery Co (KDC) led the rise with an impressive 5.5 per cent growth.

Meanwhile, 11 others tumbled including private equity firm Masan Group (MSN) which slid nearly 1.6 per cent following a four-session rally.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the benchmark HNX-Index put on 0.53 per cent to reach 63.13 points. However, trading remained slow with just 9.9 million shares worth a turnover of VND76 billion ($3.5 million) exchanged.

Blue chips in Ha Noi drove the HNX30 up 0.6 per cent to 119.60 points. – VN
