HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Shares rebounded strongly on the HCM City Exchange this morning, with the VN-Index closing at 544.62 points, an increase of 2.08 per cent over yesterdays trading.
However, the benchmark index closed down on the Ha Noi Exchange.
On the southern bourse, 65.2 million shares with a total value of VND1.3 trillion (US$61.9 million) were traded.
The VN30-Index advanced 2.57 per cent to reach 694.59 points, boosted by gains from Sacombank (STB) which rose VND1,200 ($0.057) per share to its ceiling price of VND19,000 ($0.9).
Other blue chips also witnessed strong gains this morning, including Vietcombank (VCB), real estate giant Vingroup (VIC), Vinamilk (VNM), Hoa Phat Group (HPG), Masan Group (MSN), FPT Group (FPT) and Bao Viet Group (BVH).
Twenty-three out of the bourse's 30 largest stocks gained this morning while six codes lost.
On the Ha Noi Exchange, 36.7 million shares with a total value of VND375 million ($17.85 million) were traded.
The HNX-Index lost 0.56 per cent to end at 72.66 points, while the HNXFF-Index dropped 0.38 per cent to end at 72.36 points.
The HNX30-Index closed this morning at 150.87 points, 0.7 per cent lower. — VNS
