HA NOI ―  Shares managed to rally in HCM City this morning but tumbled in Ha Noi.

On the HCM City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index finished the morning session up 0.48 per cent at 524.44 points. The number of gainers was double that of losers.

Trading value totalled VND661.4 billion (US$31.4 million) on a volume of nearly 41.8 million shares, virtually unchanged compared to yesterday morning's level.

Of the 30 leading shares by capitalisation and liquidity tracked by the VN30, steelmaker Hoa Sen (HSG), Refrigeration Electric Engineering (REE), property developer Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAG) and food processor Bourbon Tay Ninh (SBT) were the top advancers, adding 1.9-4.8 per cent.

The VN30 gained 0.17 per cent to 582.13 points.

Meanwhile, on the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index slipped 0.15 per cent, reaching 65.39 points.

As about 23.1 million shares were exchanged, the total trading value on the bourse fetched almost VND199.5 billion ($9.5 million).

However, the HNX30, representing Ha Noi's largest stocks in terms of capitalisation and liquidity, added 0.4 per cent to reach 126.27 points. ― VNS
